Kelsey M. Wenberg & Scott Ellis
Art Reception Friday, August 4th 6pm-9pm
Kelsey M Wenberg is a macrame artist whose work explores the ancient art form through intimate meditation on repetition and design. Dealing with themes of unity and interconnectivity through scale and pattern, she is able to achieve labor-intensive works that communicate both visually and tangibly. Kelsey has a BFA from UW-Madison, where she emphasized in Sculpture and Business. She is currently studying Museum Studies through Northwestern University, Chicago. She presently resides in Eau Claire, WI and sells her work under the name the Contemporary Knot.
Scott Ellis is a Wisconsin native and local Eau Claire maker. Trained in the art of fine mid-century modern furniture making, he turned to printmaking to capture the essence of the trees around him. Through an intensive process, he is able to make one of a kind, hand-pressed artwork that inspires contemplation on environment and design. Bringing raw nature indoors, Scott's work reminds us of meditative walks through the forests and the serenity of the outdoors. Scott has a degree in Graphic Design and sells his prints under the name Grit on Grain.
