Hi, my name is Jeanne Styczinski.
I’m the author and illustrator of 6 wonderful children’s picture books. My studio is in Colfax, Wisconsin. In 2014 I published my first children’s book, "Mama, How Does The Wind Start To Blow?" It received a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award, which gave me the confidence to continue writing and illustrating.
I’m inspired by the role that children’s picture books play in literacy development and how early connection with pictures books help children develop a love for reading. As an artist I use brightly colored acrylic paints to create painted papers.
I paint over newsprint and then use recycled objects to print patterns, textures and/or designs giving my papers a unique look. Then, I use these painted papers to collage the illustrations for my children's books, cards, and original framed art.

I started crocheting 8 years ago when I was pregnant with my third baby. I wanted to make something beautiful for him so I grabbed a big hook and some chunky yarn and away I went. Which started out as a simple project has turned into a whole business and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have this beautiful outlet to express myself.
